What are Time Management rights?

Time Management rights are permissions given to users so that they may access the 'Time Sheets' and-or the 'Activities' windows.

In TeemWork, there are three 'Time Management' rights.  They are:

  1. A user can use Time Sheets.

  2. A user can approve Time Sheets.

  3. A user can modify or add activities.

Time Management rights are managed by the team administrator, or administrators. They can specify user rights to Time Management functions using the 'Manage Users' window.  Only administrators have access to this window.

The first slide is an example of the 'Manage Users' Window.

The check boxes in the middle of the 'User Profile' tab indicate whether a user can: Login to TeemWork,  enter time worked in time sheets, create new activities, approve time sheets, or can administer the Teem.  Use these check boxes to set the default rights for each user in your team.

In the above example, the user Joe Levy, is simply 'Active'.  Mr. Levy cannot use time sheets or add new activities.  He has no 'Time Management' rights.

The next slide shows the menu bar for the user, Joe Levy.

The following sections, explains the purpose of each Time Management check box in more detail.

The second check box from the top is:

When this box is checked the user may use time sheets to enter his time worked.  The user's menu bar will include 'Time Sheets' as displayed below:

A user with this right can enter his time worked, modify time worked and 'Sign' the time sheet.

The third check box is:

When the administrator checks this box, the user has the right to use the 'Activity' window.  The user's menu bar will include 'Activities,' as displayed below:

The 'Activities' window is used to add or modify Activities. This window is also used to specify who can enter time for each activity.

The 'Activities' window is illustrated in the next slide.

The fourth check box is:

Check this box and the user can view and approve the time sheets of other users.  By default, the user may view and approve time sheets of every user.

A Time Sheet must be signed before it can be approved.  The figure below illustrates a Time Sheet that has been signed but has not yet been approved.

The 'User Profile' tab is used as the default setting for these rights to users in your team.

TeemWork provides a method for teams to give users the rights to view and approve time sheets for only selected users.  Use the 'Time Management' tab to provide this level of rights after selecting the default setting in the 'User Profile, as shown above.
