The 'Access to Contact Types' tab
A 'contact' is a person or an organisation that matters to your team. Contacts can be of many types, such as 'Clients', 'Suppliers' and 'Tenants'. TeemWork supports the use of dozens of different 'contact types'. The 'Access to Contact Type' tab allows the administration of contacts to the users of the team.
Open the 'Manage Users' window with a click on the menu bar.

The top half of the 'Manage Users' window displays a list of the members of your team. Select a team member with a click to the row. Then click the third tab, the one that is labeled 'Access to Contact Types'.
The 'Access to Contact Type' tab is displayed below.

TeemWork has dozens of different 'contact types'. The contact types are grouped under a general list called, 'Contact Category' list. The list is located to the left of the tab. In the above slide, the selected contact category is 'Standard'.
We see that the 'standard' category includes the following 'contact types'.
Client
Supplier
Employee
Member
Consumer
Visitor, and
TeemMember
To select a different 'Contact Category', simply click on the category name. In the next slide, the 'Clients' category is selected.

The Team Administrator sets which 'contact types' will be used by his team and determines the access rights for each user. The number of 'contact types' to be used is determined by the team's requirements.
There are seven access rights for each 'contact type'. They are:
view database information about contacts of that type,
modify database information about contacts of that type,
add contacts of that type to the database,
be involved in follow-ups about that type of contact.
view the list of checks issued to contacts of that type.
view the list of invoices issued to contacts of that type.
view the list of orders issued to contacts of that type.
Access is granted (checked) or denied (no check) on a user by user basis for each contact type.
The general user is aware of his or her access to contact rights when using the 'Contacts' window. It is in this window that users can view, modify, add or do contact related follow-ups.
To see the contact types permitted to the user to 'view', clicks the 'Contact Type' drop down list. Below is an example of the 'contact types' that the user can 'view'. They are: Client, Employee, Subscriber and Tenant.

If the user has been given rights to modify, add or do contact follow-ups, corresponding buttons are visible in the user's 'Contact' window. If these rights are denied, then the buttons are invisible.
TeemWork provides a special Contact Type named - TeemMember. This contact type is a duplicated list of all users added in the Manage Users window. To learn more about administrating this contact type for your team, click here.
